What we offer

At Zion, we believe life is about healthy relationships created by the Word of God. And so, having a right relationship with God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are set free to know and serve God and each other in the following ways:

Community

We enjoy coming together as a community over lunch every third Sunday of the month after worship, in order to enjoy each other’s company (not to mention the food!).

Worship

As a Christian gathering, we come together every Sunday at 11 AM to meet with our Creator. We encounter Him as we hear His powerful words to us, and actually receive His presence in a most sacred and mysterious way in Holy Communion (bread and wine, celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month). The music used in Divine Service calls our attention to the deep riches of God’s Word, as found in the rich heritage of the Church’s hymns and liturgy.

Bible Study

Regular Bible study is held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am.  We take a closer look at the Scripture lessons that will be used in the service that morning.  Jesus says, “If you abide in My teaching, you are truly my disciples. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  We invite you to join us.

Kings Kids Power Hour

Kings Kids Power Hour  is our Christian education program for children ages 5 to 12. Bible stories, games and crafts are all part of this program. Currently, this is on hold indefinitely, likely until next autumn.

Junior Confirmation Classes

The gateway to communicant membership in the Evangelical Lutheran Church (Lutheran Church-Canada) for those previously Baptized (usually as infants) and desiring to make the Biblical, Lutheran Confession of faith their own. Also, this can serve as a place for inquiry even for those not yet Baptized, but curious as to the teaching of Christ.

Adult Information Class

The Adult Information Class is an excellent opportunity to learn the core of the Christian faith, as aptly and profoundly summarized by Martin Luther in his Small Catechism. If you’re seeking to become a member, interested in finding out more about the Christian faith, or are a member already and want to  review the catechism, this is for you. Contact Pastor Fritsche for more info and to register.

Service

We desire strongly to be a positive, helpful presence in our community, both locally and globally. We know that we do not exist for our own sake, but for the sake of others around us, and so we welcome and entertain any possible ways we can help others out. From local food banks, to youth shelters, to assisting victims of earthquakes, we continually ask God for the genuine love and strength to serve others.
